Our Building on Campus

Our building is called the Coordinated Science Laboratory (although it appears under its old name of "Computer and Systems Research Laboratory" on some old maps), 1308 West Main Street, Urbana, Illinois, 61801. Here is a map of the whole campus; if you click on the northernmost section, you'll get to this map of our part of campus (You can see the Beckman Institute, which is a very prominent building, in the upper left corner of the map, with CSL just southeast of it).

Directions from Out of Town

By air:

• Come in to Willard Airport in Champaign, Illinois. The Illini Limo taxi company can take you from the Champaign airport into town for about $10. They are out at the airport to meet most flights, unless they're busy. You can phone them at +1 (217) 384-5892.

By car:

• Coming from the north (Chicago) on Interstate 57: Exit from Interstate 57 at the University Avenue/Interstate 72-East exit. (This exit is just south of the intersection of Interstate 57 with Interstate 74.) Drive east on University Ave. to Mathews Avenue. (Note: Wright Street is the street before Mathews. Wright is the dividing line between Champaign and Urbana, and has a traffic light. You will see the Beckman Institute on the south side of University between Wright and Mathews.) Turn south on Mathews.
• Coming from the south on Interstate 57: Exit at University Avenue/Interstate 72-East. Drive east on University Avenue to Mathews Avenue. (note: Wright Street is the street before Mathews and has a traffic light. You will see the Beckman Institute between Wright and Mathews.) Turn south on Mathews.
• Coming from the southwest (Springfield, IL) on Interstate 72: Coming in on Interstate 72, the Interstate ends at the west side of Champaign and becomes University Avenue. Drive east on University Avenue to Mathews Avenue. (note: Wright Street is the street before Mathews and has a traffic light. You will see the Beckman Institute between Wright and Mathews.) Turn south on Mathews.
• Coming from the northwest (Peoria) on Interstate 74: Coming in on Interstate 74, take the Lincoln Avenue exit in Urbana. Go south on Lincoln Avenue to University Avenue. Go west on University Avenue through the next traffic light (Goodwin Avenue), and turn south (left) at the next street, Mathews Avenue.
• Coming from the east (Danville) on Interstate 74: Coming in on Interstate 74, take the University Avenue exit (the first Urbana exit). Follow University Avenue to Mathews Avenue (note: Goodwin is the street before Mathews. Carle Clinic/Hospital is a major landmark that you will pass a few blocks before you get to Mathews.) Turn south on Mathews.
